Sergej Krylov

Sergej Krylov has established himself as one of the most talented violinists of his generation and is regularly invited to perform in major concert halls, such as the Berlin and Munich Philharmonie, Wien Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Théatre des Champs-Elysée in Paris, Munich Herkulessaal, Brussels Bozar, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
He appears with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including Staatskapelle Dresden, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, DSO Berlin, Russian National Symphony, English Chamber Orchestra, Hessischer Rundfunk Frankfurt, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, and Copenhagen Philharmonic.

Among the most important personalities with whom he has worked, his friendship with Mstislav Rostropovich marks a very significant moment in Krylov’s artistic life. Krylov appears with many conductors: Mikhail Pletnev, Andrey Boreyko, Dmitri Kitajenko, Omer M. Wellber, Yuri Temirkanov, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Nicola Luisotti, Vladimir Jurowski, Julian Kovatchev, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Saulius Sondeckis, Zoltan Kocsis, and Yuri Bashmet.
He reserves ample time for chamber music projects playing alongside Denis Matsuev, Yuri Bashmet, Itamar Golan, Lilya Zilberstein, Aleksandar Madzar, Bruno Canino, Stefania Mormone, Maxim Vengerov, Nobuko Imai, the Belcea Quartet and Elina Garanča.
Since 2009 he has been Music Director of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra regularly taking on the double role of soloist and conductor.

Born in Moscow into a family of musicians, Sergej Krylov started studying the violin at the age of five and completed his studies at the Moscow Central School of Music. Still very young he won the International Competition Lipizer and after a period studying with Salvatore Accardo, he was awarded First Prize at both the Stradivari Competition and the prestigious Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna.

His discography, in addition to the release of the Paganini 24 Caprices, includes recordings for EMI, Melodya and Agorà.
