Tchaikovsky’s fabulous Waltz Scherzo for violin and piano will also be performed, echoing the New Year’s Eve imagery of The Nutcracker. Finally, the concert will be completed with music by Chopin: one of the gems of the composer’s repertoire — Nocturne in C minor, a passionate Scherzo No. 2, and the iridescent and soothing Piano Sonata No. 3.
